COVID-19: Peru received 1,780,650 vaccines from Sinopharm | VIDEO nndc | PERU

This Friday, a new batch of 1,780,650 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine against COVID-19 arrived, to continue with the immunization process that is taking place in all regions of the country. The drug arrived in the afternoon at the Jorge Chávez del Callao International Airport.

The director of Decentralization of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), David Jumpa, was in charge of receiving this shipment of vaccines. “There is an important public effort, they have invested – in these new contracts – about S / 95 million to ensure the supply of vaccines in 2022 (Pfizer and Moderna)″ He indicated.

The Minsa indicated that, thanks to these constant shipments of vaccines, this month Peru will receive more than 12 million doses. Yesterday a batch of 326,430 COVID-19 vaccines arrived from the Pfizer laboratory.

To date, more than 54% of the target population has already been fully inoculated against the disease. Until this Friday, October 29, the number of people vaccinated with at least one dose amounts to 18’746.292. Meanwhile, the total of citizens immunized with two doses is 15,295,260.

Vaccination from 15 years

This weekend, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October, the vaccination against the coronavirus (COVID-19) will be advanced to adolescents aged 15 to 17 years, since it was planned to begin on November 2, reported the Minister of Health , Hernando Cevallos.

“Vaccination is going to be done by age groups. We are going to start until the age of 15 because first many go with their families, and this generates queues and is much more complicated. We do not want people to agglomerate us, queues, discomfort and greater possibility of contagion, but it is up to 15 years in this first stage. This is a decision that has come up in the last two days because the Halloween parties are coming, but it is to motivate the vaccine. More than November 2 is going to start this Saturday [30 de octubre] because we want to end with this age group, and then we will start with those under 15, noted in RPP.
