Covid-19: people over 45 must have full vaccination for interprovincial travel | News

People over 45 years of age will need to have two doses of the covid-19 vaccine to make interprovincial trips, Health Minister Hernando Cevallos announced today, announcing the agreements adopted in the Council of Ministers.

Cevallos commented, however, that this measure will only be required within a month to allow time for people in this age range not yet immunized to receive the first dose and 21 days later the second dose.

“Although the vaccine is voluntary, no one has the right to infect others. If one travels in an interprovincial bus, generally several hours, the person who sits next to you should have less chance of infecting you,” he said at a press conference after the Council of Ministers.

The minister stressed that unvaccinated people have a greater chance of infecting those around them. “For the protection of those over 45, within a period of one month, it will be required to have the two doses to travel in interprovincial buses.”
