Covid-19 patient strangled in the capital hospital

TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS.- A man admitted to one of the isolation rooms for people infected with coronavirus at the San Felipe Hospital was the victim of a deadly attack by strangulation.

The unusual incident against José Francisco Ferrufino Turcios, 51 years old, was recorded in one of the rooms of the healthcare center that lacks security cameras.

The versions that transcended through audios revealed that another patient, interned in the same room as Covid-19, was the one who killed Ferrufino Turcios by strangling him.

In the same message, it is disclosed that the event was registered after authorized personnel served them food.

“I don’t think a healthy person dares enter a room where Covid-19 patients are,” says the voice message.

Deportee

José Francisco Ferrufino Turcios had been deported from Mexico and it was unknown where he had been infected.

Forensic Medicine, Public Prosecution and Police Investigations Directorate (DPI) personnel arrived at about 2:40 in the afternoon to recognize and carry out the removal of the body and transferred it to the morgue where the autopsy was performed.

It was not reported whether the forensic doctors carried out the examinations established by law or immediately transferred him to the cemetery to bury him, as established by the protocol with patients with Covid-19.

Agents from the Investigative Police Directorate began investigations to identify the person who took José Francisco Ferrufino Turcios’ life by strangling him.
