COVID-19, participatory webinars on sustainable development: discussions with experts from Paris-Saclay University (France)

As part of the current mobilization and collective thinking about the Covid-19 pandemic, Paris-Saclay University (France), in collaboration with the online media The Conversation and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie, organized in June 2020 two webinars on sustainable development. Broadcast live via the Microsoft Teams platform, these webinars are now available on YouTube.

The 1st webinar “Biodiversity and climate: urgency”, was moderated by Fabrice Rousselot, managing editor, The Conversation France.

Around the microphones were gathered:

  • Valérie Masson-Delmotte, co-president of group 1 of the IPCC since 2015 and climatologist at the laboratory of climate and environmental sciences (Paris-Saclay University)
  • Anne Charlotte Vaissière, ecological economist at the systematic ecology and evolution laboratory (Paris-Saclay University)
  • Laurent Fonbaustier, environmental lawyer and professor of law at the Institute of Public Law Studies (Paris-Saclay University)
  • Mateo Cordier, economist in the cultures, environments, arctic, representations, climate laboratory (Paris-Saclay University)
  • Jane Lecomte, Vice President Sustainable Development (Paris-Saclay University)

The 2eme webinar addressed the theme “What food for tomorrow?” Short circuits – Safety – Production ”. It was moderated by Jennifer Gallé, Head of Environment – Energy section, The Conversation France.
