The news affluencein recent days on the front of antiviral drugs intended to fight Covid. Maybe it’s un turning in the course of the epidemic which appeared in China two years ago and which has ravaged the planet since then. These oral treatments can be given, without a hospital stay, as soon as symptoms appear.
Two pharmaceutical giants – Pfizer and Merck – have reported figures promising in November. The first confirmed on Tuesday December 14th that its treatment – nirmatrelvir, combined with ritonavir – reduces the risk of hospitalization by 89%, according to its most recent results. On Thursday, the European Medicines Agency recommended d’y rerunningn emergency situation, even before that it be approved. For its part, Merck has published Friday studies on its own substance, molnupiravir.
