Covid-19: more than 3,000 people vaccinated with Lamentin vaccinodrome

3,020 people vaccinated in five days

The vaccination campaign is gaining momentum in Martinique. The resurgence of the epidemic on the island is pushing more and more people to take the plunge. The vaccinodrome installed at the Lamentin Sports Palace quickly picked up speed, even if the target of 5,000 injections per week has not yet been reached.

Even today, the health personnel were on a war footing to welcome the volunteers who had come to be vaccinated, as indicated by Dr Ludovic Durand, chief doctor of STIS and in charge of the Lamentin vaccination center:

The results are 3,020 people vaccinated in five days, out of a capacity of 5,000, so we are a little below the forecasts before the Easter weekend. But the Martinican population seems to be more adherent to vaccination

A welcome today without an appointment

On this Easter Monday, all age groups were received even without an appointment. With the family, or alone, everyone can go to the Palais des Sports, as the center manager says:

We will continue to receive walk-in people today, as long as there is room.

Tonight, the vaccination center closes at 7 p.m. It is open every day, even on Sundays and public holidays from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
