Over the same period, 8.7 people died per day on average while they were carrying the virus (+45%), bringing the death toll to 31,977 since the start of the pandemic in Belgium.

Between July 1 and July 7, there were an average of 138.7 hospital admissions per day due to covid, up 27% from the previous reporting period. A total of 1,660 coronavirus-positive people are currently hospitalized, including 87 patients treated in intensive care.
The reproduction rate of the virus is 1.18. When it is greater than 1, this indicator means that the epidemic tends to accelerate. The incidence, which provides the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, reached 644 over 14 days.
