COVID-19 in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté:
the epidemic continues to progress in the regions

The Covid-19 epidemic continues to progress in the region, the Regional Health Agency calls for everyone’s vigilance.
The circulation of the Covid-19 virus is very active in the regions, the incidence rate in the general population is 736 per 100,000 inhabitants. It is 220 per 100,000 inhabitants for the over 65 age group. As for the positivity rate of the tests, it exceeds 10% this week.

The Omicron variant continues to gain ground in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, exceeding 50% presence on all daily screenings since the start of the week.

Vaccination to counter the epidemic

The Haute Autorité de Santé recommends as from December 28 the administration of the booster dose from 3 months after the last injection for people aged 18 and over. The aim of this reduction in time is to allow everyone to receive a booster dose more quickly and thus to be better protected against the virus and in particular the Omicron variant.

As a reminder, a complete vaccination protected against the risk of serious forms and hospitalization: the booster is an additional safe and effective shield against the virus.

Maintaining barrier gestures

Everyone is invited to participate in collective protection by continuing to respect barrier gestures in all circumstances, but also by being screened at least in doubt and by respecting strict isolation while waiting for the results and / or in the event of a positive test. .

The Regional Health Agency renews its thanks to the population, healthcare workers and other professionals for their involvement in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.

The hospital system remains energized

The situation remains tense within the hospital system, 850 people are hospitalized as part of the epidemic, including 137 in critical care and intensive care units.
