Covid-19: Know which municipalities are registering the greatest increase. Lisbon, Amadora and Sintra lead

Data released this Wednesday, in the daily epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), reveal that there are 223 Portuguese municipalities with at least three confirmed cases of Covid-19.

According to the same document, in the last 24 hours there were 285 new cases. However, the data referring to the counties, account for 323 new infected. THE Renaissance, the General Directorate of Health states that “there are always correct data in municipalities, either due to delay in notification or due to the relocation of the user in the area of ​​residence”.

The director of the infectious disease service at Hospital Curry Cabral had already admitted, also in an interview to Renascença, delays in the registration of data at SINAVE.

Lisbon (+48), Amadora (+39), Sintra (+33), Loures (+31), Vila Franca de Xira (+22) Oeiras (+16), Odivelas (+14) and Seixal (+13) are municipalities with the greatest increase in the number of infected in the last 24 hours, according to the DGS list.

According to the same bulletin, 53 municipalities register at least one more confirmed case of Covid-19 compared to the previous day and seven counties add up to more than one thousand infected – Lisbon, Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Matosinhos, Braga, Sintra and Gondomar.

Lisbon occupies the top of the table with a total of 2,182 infected with the new coronavirus, followed by Vila Nova de Gaia (1,552), Porto (1,347) and Matosinhos (1,269). Of the 223 municipalities with at least three confirmed cases of Covid-19, 170 did not register an increase in the number of infected people compared to the previous day.

In the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (LVT), 277 new cases were reported Covid-19 in the last 24 hours (97% of all new cases), thus overcoming the barrier of 10,000 infected, since the outbreak began.

Knowing that the accounting will not be relative to the total number of cases – nor will it simultaneously monitor the data reported by the municipalities – DGS has chosen to provide only data from SINAVE, the national epidemiological surveillance system.

Confirmed cases of Covid-19 by municipality

The daily bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) recorded 1,356 deaths (14 more than on Tuesday) from the new coronavirus and 31,292 positive cases (285 more, representing an increase of 0.9%).

There is also an increase of 253 recovered, for a total of 18,349. The number of active cases increased, in 18, to 11,587.

The lethality rate remains at 4.3% (16.9% over 70 years).

The report on Wednesday, with data updated until 12:00 am on Tuesday, also reveals that 1,886 cases are still awaiting the results of laboratory tests and more than 27,000 people are under surveillance by health authorities.

The North region has the highest number of deaths (755), followed by Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (335), the Central region (235), the Algarve (15) and Alentejo, with one dead. The bulletin reports 15 deaths in the Azores. The Madeira archipelago still has no record of deaths from Covid-19.

It is in the 80’s and upwards that the most deaths are registered (912), followed by the group from 70 to 79 years (265), from 60 to 69 years (121), from 50 to 59 years (42), from 40 to 49 years (15) and from 20 to 29 years old, with one death.

In total, 692 women and 664 men died with Covid-19.
