Greece currently has over 3000 active cases of coronavirus infection. However, the risk is higher on six islands, the British Ministry of Transport said. From Wednesday, returning British tourists will have to quarantine for two weeks.
The regulation covers the islands of Lesbos, Tinos, Serifos, Mykonos, Santorini, Crete and Zakynthos. According to Transport Minister Grant Shapps, there is no reason to apply the measure to the whole of Greece yet. However, Scotland has already done so independently, the portal writes bbc.co.uk.
The country is also a popular destination among Czech tourists. But for them, nothing changes after returning from Greece. The traffic light is still green. Thus, Czechs do not have to submit a negative test or enter quarantine. The test or quarantine is mandatory after returning to the Czech Republic from Romania and Spain (from 14 September, including the Canary Islands). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs last updated the travel traffic light for the Czech Republic last Friday. It has not announced any further changes yet.

On the contrary, Czechs traveling to Greece is a bit more complicated. It is mandatory to register the passenger before entering the territory, on arrival by road, in addition to the QR code from the form, it is also necessary to submit a negative test. “A negative PCR test is also mandatory on arrival (including transit) from Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Israel, Malta, Romania, Russia, Northern Macedonia, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden and Spain,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Who travels to Greece aircraft from the territory of the Czech Republic, this obligation does not apply to him.
The United Kingdom did not only tighten the conditions for travel from Greece. From the end of August, the Czechs must also be quarantined after arriving in the island kingdom. They will not avoid it even if they submit a negative test.
“All passengers are advised to arrive only in the most urgent cases; after any quarantine, all persons are still subject to the applicable government measures for the entire territory of the United Kingdom,” warns the Czech Foreign Office.
