President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic is subsiding in the country; According to data from the Ministry of Health, it maintains the reduction trend and already adds up to ten consecutive weeks.
The lowest level of estimated active cases of COVID-19 is recorded with only 0.1 percent since the pandemic began in 2020 and hospitalizations and deaths decreased by 98 percent compared to the peak recorded in the second wave, so that the 32 states are green at the traffic light for epidemic risk.

(…) The results are already better; We must continue to attend to this problem that affected us greatly. (In) what corresponds to our government was the main challenge we faced, ”he stressed.
At a morning press conference, the Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez, announced that a special reinforcement application operation will be implemented in April to achieve high coverage of the third dose. This action will be carried out in collaboration with authorities of the federal entities. He called all the people waiting to receive the reinforcement to come for him as soon as possible.
“Continue insisting that the reinforcements be applied, that people do not trust each other. (…) We certainly don’t want COVID to return, but if this were to happen, people not fully immunized, including boosters, could still be at risk of significant illness. Do not miss the opportunity to do it now, ”she emphasized.
Currently, 75 percent of adults age 60 and older have received the third dose—or the second for those who received single-dose vaccines; 52 percent of people aged 40 to 59 and 47 percent of the population aged 18 to 39.
Vaccination coverage of primary schedules reached its peak; 90 percent of the population over 18 years of age, 85 million 631 thousand 530 people, have completed it. In the population of girls, boys and adolescents from 14 to 17 years of age, progress is 54 percent.
He pointed out that the Roadrunner Brigades continue with vaccination campaigns in the most remote communities and work to convince the population of the benefits of vaccines against COVID-19.

The Patria vaccine has shown high levels of immunity and its superiority over other vaccines acquired and applied in the country, said the Undersecretary for Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell Ramírez.
He invited the population over 18 years of age to participate in the clinical trial of this Mexican scientific development. By participating in the study, he said, people will have their general health tracked for a year. To register, interested parties must go to patria.conacyt.mx.
The scientific evidence will allow to go to phase 3 and for the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks to grant registration for its potential use as a universal reinforcement, the undersecretary said.
During the Pulse of Health, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, reported that the start of negotiations with India aimed at strengthening Mexico’s health capacities through technology transfers was successful, which will boost national production of medicines and more vaccines.
