COVID-19: Infected in the emergency of Torres Vedras rises to 23 – News

The focus of infection appeared in the General Emergency Service of the Hospital of that unit, in the district of Lisbon, related to a patient who was hospitalized in that service “with non-respiratory pathologies”.

According to the CHO, the patient “was tested before he was discharged” and was “validated as negative”, but “the patient’s clinical situation worsened and he returned to the emergency room 24 hours later, this time with respiratory complaints” .

After a second test on the new coronavirus, the result was positive, and the patient was admitted to the “covid area” of the Torres Vedras hospital.

At the Torres Vedras do CHO unit, there is a ward for covid patients with a capacity for 24 beds, currently with 12 inpatients and a 50% occupancy rate, which corresponds to a total of 12 inpatients.

CHO integrates the hospitals of Caldas da Rainha, Torres Vedras and Peniche, having an area of ​​influence made up of the populations of the municipalities of Caldas da Rainha, Óbidos, Peniche, Bombarral, Torres Vedras, Cadaval and Lourinhã and part of the municipalities of Alcobaça and of Mafra.
