Covid-19 Increases, Diner Visitors Drop

SOLO, solotrust.com The spike in Covid-19 cases in Indonesia over the past week is fairly high. The reason, the number of positive cases increased by 42 percent. In fact, the spokesman for the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito said, Central Java experienced an increase of 1,012 cases on Thursday (24/06/2021).

The increase in Covid-19 cases also occurred in the city of Solo. This has an impact on the culinary business which has decreased the number of visitors. As happened in one of the places to eat in the area around the campus of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS).

“The number of visitors has decreased a bit, it’s quiet. It’s only decreased to 50 percent recently,” said Saprol, one of the managers of restaurants around the UNS campus area, when met solotrust.com, Friday (25/06/2021).

Saprol also said that during the day, the shop is empty of visitors and only gets a bit crowded at night because there are usually many people hanging out.

“We are open 24 hours. At night, it’s quite crowded, in the afternoon it’s relaxing,” he said.

In line with this, one of the visitors, Rahma, admitted that he prefers to eat out or hang out with friends at night.

“I’m more used to eating out at night because I have time, right this evening,” he said.

However, Rahma is also worried about the increase in Covid-19 cases. Especially when he was in a place to eat crowded with visitors.

“Yes, actually if you’ve been worried it’s been a long time. I not always hang out, sometimes too take away. Only if there are friends usually hang out first,” he concluded. (Azizah/Azmi)
