Saturated hospital services
At CHRU de Nancy , the situation in intensive care has exceeded the maximum reached during the 2e wave. 53 Covid patients were in critical care (50 in October). There are also 40 non-Covid people in this department. In total, to date, 150 people with coronavirus are hospitalized in the establishment. To cope, the CHRU has repatriated staff, in particular operating theaters. But this leads to the deprogramming of care for other pathologies. “It’s worse than in October because we have delays of up to 12 months now”, explains Pr Christian Rabaud, infectious disease specialist and president of the establishment medical commission. “In March 2020, we were able to have up to 117 resuscitations but the ability to become exclusively Covid no longer exists because of these delays which can become dramatic. “At the Metz-Thionville regional hospital, the situation is identical with 211 people hospitalized for Covid, including 51 in intensive care. After a year of health crisis, hospital capacity is still lacking.
