This is a first in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis, the city of Bagnolet made the decision to close the recreation centers for the next four weeks. The municipality wants to fight against Covid-19.
Total disinfection of the premises
The news has just fallen through a press release from the City. “It has been decided to close the leisure centers on the next four Wednesdays (March 24, March 31 and April 7 and April 14, 2021). This closure will allow complete disinfection of the premises in order to consider reopening for the next Easter school holidays, from April 17, under optimal security conditions ”, we can read.
This decision was taken as the health situation is deteriorating in many municipalities of Seine-Saint-Denis, including Bagnolet. The functioning of schools and leisure centers is strongly impacted, in particular due to a large number of agents, ATSEMs and teachers contaminated by the coronavirus.
In an attempt to curb the contamination, the City therefore took note of these new measures, taken in collaboration with the Inspector of National Education, the Directorates of schools and municipal services, in order to protect children, families and municipal officials who are at high risk.
Closure of the restaurant
Concerning schools, the Pèche d’Or kindergarten is forced to close the morning and evening reception centers, as well as the catering. Kindergarten Jean-Jaurès must also close the catering.
Finally, the municipality details that the ATSEMs and maintenance agents “will no longer be moved from one school to another. The teams in charge of maintenance will see their workforce reinforced. And regular saliva tests for agents who cannot telecommute will be organized.
