From next Monday, April 19, it will be allowed to resume work in shops located in shopping centers, as well as cinemas and professional theaters, to organize events with spectators outdoors and indoors. From Thursday, April 22, there will be outdoor cafes, but from next Monday, April 26, there will also be sports clubs.

The benefits are also intended for people who have already acquired immunity to Covid-19 – from April 22, they will be able to gather in groups of up to ten people, organize celebrations, excursions, visit patients in hospitals and people in care facilities.

“We will create such a predictable environment for these two weeks that no one would expect big surprises on either side, and in these two weeks we will prepare for the next two weeks,” said Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonīte at the government meeting.

The quarantine introduced in Lithuania on 7 November last year was last extended until 30 April, but its regime is gradually being relaxed.

Recently, the incidence rates in Lithuania have started to increase – the number of infections detected in one day has again exceeded one thousand this week, and the 14-day cumulative number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants on April 15 is 483.2.

Meanwhile, Lithuania is doing quite well with vaccination – 528,668 people have received at least one vaccine to date, but 199,314 people have already been re-vaccinated.
