At the beginning of August, a wedding celebrated in La Milesse (Sarthe) resulted in grouped cases. 12 clusters are identified in the department which is classified as “high vulnerability”.

Since the beginning of July, Sarthe records a significant rebound case of Covid-19 so that the alert threshold was exceeded on August 18 .

In this context, les clusters (clustered cases) are monitored. In date of Aug 21, 2020, 12 situations are the subject of investigations on the scale of the Sarthe.
Among these, there is the case of a wedding organized a fortnight ago in the town of La Milesse north-west of Le Mans with around 250 guests from all over France.
76 positive cases
ARS of Pays de la Loire alerted agencies in other regions where the guests came from. The “contact tracing” teams worked and it turns out that 76 positive cases resulted from this happy event. It is not known whether serious forms were developed by the infected participants and whether hospitalizations were necessary.
Vigilance therefore remains in particular by avoiding these family or friendly reunions. Anyway, respect for barrier gestures remains fundamental.
