Covid-19 in France: 186 new deaths in hospital in 24 hours and 23,996 positive cases


Santé Publique France identified 186 deaths linked to Covid-19 this Saturday that occurred in hospital in the past 24 hours, compared to 286 the day before and 167 last Sunday. Since the start of the epidemic, 61,450 people have died in hospital for a total of 86,333 deaths in France.

23,996 new cases were also identified in 24 hours, or 21,840 on average per day over the past week (tenth consecutive day of increase at a more or less stable rate, + 13.7% in one week).

This Saturday, 3,453 people are currently in intensive care, including 208 new admissions in the last 24 hours. There were 3430 the day before and 3380 last Friday, a slight increase but continuous for a week. During previous waves of contamination, the number of patients in intensive care had reached 7,000 in the spring and 4,900 in the fall, but the situation in Dunkirk and the Alpes-Maritimes and in other regions including Ile-de-France. France worries the authorities. 24,989 people are hospitalized in total against 25,506 last week.

Almost 3 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine

On February 26, the health agency recorded 102,863 new vaccinations in 24 hours. 1,560,575 people had already received the two doses of vaccine by that date, mainly that of Pfizer / BioNtech. But 2,917,925 people received at least one dose of the vaccine.
