“Doctors noted an unexplained massive pulmonary embolism” after the death of Sofia, a 17-year-old girl. The teenager received an injection of a dose of the Pfizer vaccine 11 days ago in her high school in Gardanne, in the Bouches-du-Rhône.
A discomfort in high school
Sofia’s funeral took place on Monday, September 27. The 17-year-old teenager died last Tuesday, September 21 in Aix-en-Provence hospital after becoming unwell in her high school in Gardanne, in the Bouches-du-Rhône. His death occurred about ten days after receiving a dose of vaccine Pfizer against coronavirus. “Doctors noted unexplained massive pulmonary embolism”, confided Farida, the aunt and godmother of the victim on the words collected by 20 Minutes.
Ongoing investigations
An investigation was therefore opened by the Regional Health Agency and the Aix-en-Provence prosecutor’s office after this death, the causes of which remain undetermined. According to the ARS, medical and pharmacological analyzes are underway. The health agency stressed, however, that it was still too early to establish a link or not between the death of the teenager and the vaccination. In addition, the Aix-en-Provence prosecutor’s office claims to have opened an investigation to find the causes of death and has requested an autopsy.
The victim’s body was partially autopsied, but additional analyzes were carried out, in particular at the anatomopathological and toxicological level. “It takes a little time. We will do everything to find out the causes of this death”, continued Achille Kiriakides the prosecutor of the Republic of Aix-en-Provence.
