JAKARTA – The government believes that Covid-19 immunization will later be able to help accelerate national economic recovery due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Through vaccines is the key to economic recovery.

Chairman of the Committee for Handling Covid-19 and Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartarto said that he was currently working on a gradual immunization plan. He believes that group immunity after vaccination is an important asset for economic recovery.

“And optimism has two positive impacts, namely on handling health and economic recovery,” he said in Jakarta, recently.

He continued, once the immunization is carried out, the community is expected to have immunity against a disease, then a herd immunity is formed. The immunity of this group is an important asset for economic recovery.

“So what is seen is optimism that in 2021, with the start of immunization, the Indonesian economy will grow 4.5 – 5.5 percent,” he said.

The general chairman of Golkar said that Indonesia would receive 30 million doses of vaccine in the fourth quarter of 2020. The number of vaccines came from Sinovac, Sinopharm, and Astra Zeneca. The government has ordered 50 million vaccines from Astra Zeneca and is now leaving for the first order.

Meanwhile, according to the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Covid-19 will not be able to completely disappear from this world. The virus will continue to exist even if a vaccine is found. Therefore, people keep their immune system and always wash their hands.

“Covid will still be with us, even though we will talk about vaccines later, we want to talk about dealing with it. So I hope all of you do not think oh this is a temporary problem for 1, 2 months and it is over but our mindset changes, ”said the treasurer of this country.

Separately, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin asked the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to participate in guarding the halalness of the Covid-19 vaccine. MUI will later monitor the vaccines to be included in Indonesia.

“I have asked to be involved, starting from planning, procuring vaccines, then considering halal vaccines,” said Ma’ruf Amin. (din / fin)
