“Covid-19 hospitalizations and incidence rates drop in Cantabria, Spain”

SANTANDER, 2 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Those hospitalized for Covid-19 and the incidence of cases in people over 60 years of age have decreased in Cantabria in the last few hours, according to data from the Cantabrian Health Service (SCS), corresponding to the closure of May 1.

Yesterday, eight new cases of Covid were detected in people over 60 years of age — the only group for which community transmission data is offered –, two more than the previous day. In the last seven days, 44 positives have been recorded, which rises to 98 if 14 are taken into account.

In this way, the cumulative incidence at 14 days in people over 60 years of age has dropped by two points, to 56 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, as well as at seven days, which is now at 25 cases.

Both parameters are at low risk, although Cantabria as a whole remains at controlled risk.

For its part, the number of hospitalized due to Covid-19 in Cantabria dropped to 9 this Monday, one less than the previous day, although bed occupancy remains at 0.6%, and there are still no patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to the virus.

Of those admitted, four are in the Valdecilla Hospital, three in the Sierrallana Hospital and two in the Laredo Hospital.

On the other hand, the SCS has not reported new deaths from Covid-19, which has remained at 1,023 since the start of the pandemic.
