According to a review by The New York Post, researchers at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center found that, in detecting the coronavirus, a saliva sample collected by themselves has the same effectiveness and is just as accurate as that obtained through nasal swabs.
One of the great advantages of this test dispensing machine is that people can obtain it in complete safety and take the test from their homes, a facility that gives breathing space to the covid-19 testing centers of New York City.
Although this covid-19 test dispensed by the machines is not officially approved by the FDA, the test is among a number of home nasal fluid and saliva collection kits available under emergency use authorization (EUA).
