COVID-19 Hoax Spreads, Suspect Long Messages ‘There are Bolds’

Jakarta

Pandemic COVID-19 which has lasted 1.5 years has brought a lot of stress in everyday life. One of the efforts to reduce the mental burden is to avoid hoaxes!

“Don’t be swayed by hoax news. It can affect your mentality too,” said Prof. Tjandra Yoga Aditama, Director of Postgraduate Yarsi University who is also the former director of WHO Southeast Asia, on IG Live d’Talk with detik.com, Thursday (22/7/2021).

According to Prof. Tjandra, hoax Scattered can also trigger stress in the midst of a lot of unpleasant information. He suggests sorting out really reliable information only.

“What’s on WhatsApp is a bit easier if you’re honest. Once the news is long, very long, with a very long Indonesian story, we have to be suspicious. Is this true, or not?” said Prof. Tjandra.

“Moreover, there bold-boldher,” he continued, referring to the excessive boldface, typical of broadcast viral which is troubling.

In order not to be easily consumed by hoaxes, Prof. Tjandra suggested preferring information from trusted sources. It can be from the government, WHO, or from a trusted news site.

“(Long message and there bold-boldit’s not necessarily wrong, right,” he said.
