Most or five of the nine Covid-19 patients detected in the last day were registered in Riga. In Daugavpils and Babīte region, one new Covid-19 patient is registered in each.
So far, a total of 507 Covid-19-infected people in the capital are known, while the number of cases in Daugavpils has reached ten. With the discovery of another Covid-19 patient, the number of infected in Babīte municipality has increased to 11.
Meanwhile, the place of residence of one new Covid-19 patient is not indicated, as it is registered in a county where the total number of cases has not yet reached five, so the SPKC has not named this county at present. In the context of the Data Protection Regulation, the exact number of Covid-19 cases is only detected in areas with more than five patients.
Consequently, the case of Covid-19 is now registered in 70 municipalities, namely, Aizkraukle, Aizpute, Amata, Aloja, Alūksne, Alsunga, Ādaži, Babīte, Baldone, Bauska, Beverīna, Burtnieki, Carnikava, Cēsis, Dagda, Dobele, Durbe, Engure , Garkalne, Grobiņa, Iecavas, Ikšķiles Jelgava, Kārsava, Kocēni, Koknese, Krustpils, Kuldīga, Ķegums, Ķekava, Lielvārde, Limbaži, Mazsalaca, Mālpils, Mārupe, Mērsrags, Ogre, Olaine, Ozolnieku, Pārgauja, Prieku Rauna, Rēzekne, Ropaži, Rūjiena, Salacgrīva, Salaspils, Saldus, Saulkrasti, Sēja, Sigulda, Skrīveri, Smiltene, Stopiņi, Talsi, Tukums, Valka, Vecumnieki and Ventspils counties, as well as in big cities – Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Jūrmala, In Liepaja, Rezekne, Riga, Valmiera and Ventspils.
Another Covid-19 patient has already been reported to have died last day, but nine people have been diagnosed.
The SPKC has received information about the third death of Covid-19, when the patient died outside the hospital. The patient was known to be between 75 and 80 years of age and with a number of chronic conditions.
So far, a total of 71,069 examinations have been performed in Latvia – 909 persons have fallen ill, of whom 464 have recovered by 6 May. Covid-19 has robbed 18 people in Latvia.
During the last day, one patient with Covid-19 was hospitalized, while a total of 29 patients were treated in hospitals – 26 patients with moderate disease and three patients with severe disease.
Data from the National Health Service show that a total of 105 patients have been discharged from hospital.
