228,606 doses have been administered since the opening of the vaccination center in Exhibition, at Caen (Calvados), in May 2021. Or a little less than 28,575 per month. However, in December, during the last month of 2021, 39,385 injections were carried out. Among them, 84% involved booster doses.
1,800 injections per day
Every day, firefighters vaccinate 1,800 people at the Parc des Expositions, and 2,300 for the busiest days. The vast majority of people who received an injection in December came for their booster dose.
Of the 39,385 injections given, approximately 1,000 were for a very first dose.
The Prefecture of Calvados also affirms that “those under 30 are vaccinated just as much as those under 65”. On the other hand, “the over 65s are the least numerous, because they were the first eligible for the recall”. Also, “the Pfizer vaccine is administered as much as Moderna, in relation to the age of the vaccinated persons”.
Concerning the vaccination of 5-11 year olds, the Prefecture recalls that it is “not provided at the center of the Exhibition Center, but at the CHU, at the Mercy clinic or by treating physicians and pediatricians”.
