This Thursday, December 9, 2021, the prefect of Eure-et-Loir Françoise Souliman, as she had implied in recent days, announced to take a new decree obliging the wearing of the mask outdoors in several town centers of the department but also in areas busy commercials.
A decision motivated by the change in the incidence rate of contamination Covid-19 but also by the certified presence in recent days of the presence of the Omicron variant in Eure-et-Loir.
“The appearance of the Omicron variant, which is not more serious but more contagious and the influx of the population (…) to prepare for the holidays made me decide to take a decree” confided the prefect to our colleagues from the Republican Echo.
Chartres, Dreux, Châteaudun …
The measures requiring the wearing of a mask outside come into force Friday, December 10, 2021 until January 3, 2022 and they concern the city centers of Chartres, Dreux and Châteaudun.
The prefect has added particularly busy shopping areas at the end of the year, Chartres, Barjouville, Lucé, Châteaudun, Dreux,Vernouillet and Saint-Denis-Lanneray.
These measures are in addition to those which were always in force in closed places or in events with a high population concentration such as markets, Christmas markets, clearance sales, flea markets, festivities, sporting events.
