Healthcare professionals will be able to benefit, without medical prescription, from tests for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 genome, tests for antibodies to this virus, or both. These tests will be fully covered by health insurance, details a decree published today in the Official Journal.
This decree is part of the fight against the epidemic. “Health professionals are particularly exposed to the virus (…) it is necessary to facilitate the access of these professionals to examinations to detect the genome of Sars-CoV-2 by RT PCR and to search for antibodies directed against this virus.“, indicates the text.
To be able to benefit from reimbursed screening tests, without medical prescription, caregivers must present their health professional card (CPS) to the medical biology laboratory of their choice.
Otherwise, “Whereas the exceptional and temporary compensation for the mission of distributing masks carried out by wholesalers and distributors should be increased to take account of current costs and the logistical constraints suffered by these players“, the decree increases from 60 cents to 1.75 euros the compensation paid for the distribution of each box of masks distributed free of charge to certain health and medico-social professionals.
