Likewise, it is recommended to apply the vaccine against COVID-19, which is indicated from 06 months to 60 years or more, given that all health establishments at the regional level have vaccines for application, which can be access during business hours,” they add.

Meanwhile, in the Tacna region, the death from COVID-19 of an 80-year-old man was reported at the Hipólito Unanue Hospital. Hospital authorities indicated that the patient was hospitalized for six days and presented complications because he suffered from tuberculosis and pulmonary fibrosis and respiratory failure. The victim had four vaccines, but was missing the bivalent one. It should be noted that the last death in the area had been recorded in July of last year.

Meanwhile, on Thursday the Regional Health Management of La Libertad confirmed to Infobae Perú that a second person died from COVID-19 in its jurisdiction. Added to this is the first case of the year in Áncash, when a 43-year-old man who was admitted to the Víctor Ramos Guardia Hospital, located in Huaraz, lost his life.

The Ministry of Health of Peru ruled out that the country is entering a sixth wave of Covid-19, despite the increase in the number of infections. In December, confirmed cases of the virus tripled and the last week of the year recorded an increase in deaths, reaching 11 deaths.
