Covid-19 Death Rate Breaks Record: 555 Cases in a Day

positive case corona virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia increased by 27,233 people today, Sunday (4/7). This addition brings the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in Indonesia to 2,284,084.

The number of Covid-19 deaths today reached 555 cases, the highest record since it was first announced by President Joko Widodo in early March 2020.

Thus, the number of positive COVID-19 patients who died in Indonesia has now reached 60,582 people.

As for the total positive cases, 1,928,274 of them have recovered. Patients who recovered after being infected with the corona virus increased by 13,127 from the previous day.

Meanwhile, 295,228 others are still undergoing treatment either in hospital or in self-isolation. The development of active cases today is more than yesterday’s additional active cases which reached 281,677 people.

The number of residents who were examined were 86,292 people. The examination was carried out using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test method aka swab test, molecular rapid test (TCM), and rapid antigen test.

The daily addition of COVID-19 is known to have penetrated 20,000 cases over the past few years. The highest record reached 27,913 cases on Saturday (2/7) yesterday.

Positive cases of Covid-19 soared several weeks after the long Eid holiday. Not only positive patients, the number of people who died also increased. So far, many regions have had difficulty dealing with the growing number of new patients.

The hospital occupancy rate (BOR) has also reached more than 90 percent in some areas. Hundreds of health workers have tested positive and some have died.

The government has also decided to implement an emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) in Java and Bali from 3-20 July.

Community activities are also limited, including working from home 100 percent, completely closing shopping centers, closing places of worship, online schools, and limiting wedding activities to a maximum of 30 people.
