Sicilians who have returned to the island since August 14, from Greece, Malta and Spain must register on the “siciliacoronavirus.it” site and remain in home quarantine for two weeks before undergoing a swab. The ordinance n. 32, announced yesterday and signed today by governor Nello Musumeci. Non-residents who come from the same countries must register on the “siciliasicura.com” site and use the connected WebApp to get in touch with the regional Health Service. The use of the mask remains mandatory in public and private places, even outdoors, when it is not possible to maintain an interpersonal safety distance.
16:03 – Mayor Pozzallo suspends summer events
Two young people from Pozzallo tested positive for Covid 19 and for precautionary reasons the mayor Roberto Ammatuna has issued an urgent order with which he suspends all summer events with immediate effect. The decision depended on the fact that the two young people came into contact with different sectors of the population and, therefore, as a precaution and until the health situation is clarified, all the demonstrations have been suspended. Meanwhile, yesterday the cases of Covid-19 among the migrant guests in the Pozzallo facility rose to 73 and the mayor himself announced that from next Monday the control of the center will be strengthened with the arrival of army soldiers.
15:21 – Positive 5 young Ragusans returned from Malta
Five young Ragusans who returned from Malta in the last few hours tested positive for covid 19. This was announced by the ASP of Ragusa, which placed another 150 people in home isolation who had contact with the 5 young people who returned from Malta.
8:46 – Covid positives on quarantine ship rise to 24
Coronavirus positive migrants have risen to 24, under health surveillance on the quarantine ship Gnv Azzurra, which is in the harbor at the port of Trapani. To them are also added the six doubtful cases that are treated as if they were positive. These are the immigrants, mostly Tunisians, who were charged – in two different rounds – in Lampedusa (Ag). The migrants had in fact landed on the largest of the Pelagie islands and were temporarily hosted in the hotspot in the Imbriacola district. The president of the Sicilian Region Nello Musumeci, according to what is learned from sources of Palazzo d’Orleans, has an order ready with which health control measures are imposed on those who return from Malta, Spain and Greece after the cases of people tested positive to Covid-19 after returning from one of the three countries.
