CNBG He claimed that early test results suggest that this vaccine could be safe and effective against COVID-19. The experimental injection developed by its Beijing branch has raised high-level antibodies in the 1,120 healthy people who participated in a phase 1/2 clinical trial, according to preliminary data.
The Chinese company also said in early June that it is testing another experimental vaccine produced by another team in Wuhan in humans. According to the company, this vaccine also successfully activated antibodies in the people to whom it was applied.
However, the vaccine has yet to pass large-scale phase 3 clinical trials, a necessary step before it can be marketed. CNBG announced that it plans to conduct phase 3 testing in the United Arab Emirates.
According to Reuters, several Chinese companies and researchers are testing 8 potential experimental coronavirus vaccines in humans, while another dozen are in different stages of clinical trials around the world.
