The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, pointed out that “5,628 new cases are reported, of which 11% are diagnosed by antigen test, 25% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 25% of those notified they are asymptomatic. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Region presents 13% by antigen, 20% by BAC and 23% of the reported cases are asymptomatic ”. The regions, according to the sampling, with the highest average positivity in the last seven days are Los Ríos, La Araucanía, Coquimbo and Metropolitana.
“The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -26% and -24% for the comparison of 7 and 14 days respectively. Meanwhile, the 16 regions of the country have decreased their new cases in the last 7 days and 15 in the last 14, ”said Minister Enrique Paris.
The health authority reported that the Aysén region registers the highest incidence rate in the country per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Atacama and Arica and Parinacota regions.

According to today’s report, of the 5,628 new cases of COVID-19, 3,933 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,338 do not have symptoms. In addition, 357 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 215 deaths due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths is 32,012 in the country.
To date, 3,105 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 2,626 are on mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 263 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 74,138 PCR tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 16,694,647 analyzed nationwide. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 7.33% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 8%.
With regard to the Health Residences, we have 204 accommodation facilities, with 15,001 total beds. The real occupation nationwide is 60%, leaving a total of 4,489 beds available to be used.
