The increase in infections by covid-19 in Colombia continues, especially since the last week. According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health of this Monday, January 3, in Colombia 9,848 cases were reported new from covid-19. This, after 48,969 tests were processed (28,873 of PCR and 20,096 of antigens).

On Sunday, January 2, 3,673 recovered, 11,318 new cases and 40 deaths had been reported.
To date, 29,813,056 tests have been processed in the country. Thus, Colombia reaches 5,191,021 confirmed coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020.

On the other hand, the report accounts for 35 more deaths from the virus. With this update, the figure total deaths in Colombia amounts to 130,061.

In the last 24 hours, in addition, 5,168 recovered patients were reported. Thus, there are already 4,983,053 patients who to date have passed the covid-19 in the country.
In total, there are 59,233 cases that remain active in Colombia.

Regarding the advance of National Vaccination Plan, the health authority reported that, with a cut-off at 11:59 pm on January 1, 64,701,246 have been applied in the country covid-19 vaccine dose. Of that number, 33,043,553 correspond to the first dose; 23,017,563 at second dose; 3,328,515, booster doses, and 5,311,615 are from the single-dose vaccine.
In Colombia, 28,329,178 people already have the complete vaccination scheme.
