The increase in infections due to covid-19 in Colombia continues its ascending step, especially since the last week, in which there was an increase of 327 percent of cases.

According to the report of the Ministry of Health of this Thursday, December 30, in Colombia 8,436 new cases of covid-19 in the last hours, a total of 2,110 more than those registered this Wednesday. This, after 85,907 tests were processed (34,878 of PCR and 51,029 of antigens).

To date, 29,565,827 tests have been processed in the country. Thus, Colombia has reached 5,147,039 confirmed coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, in March 2020.
Although the number of new infections and active cases remain on the rise, the death report remains stable. In bulletin of the Minsalud accounts for 35 more deaths from the virus. With this update, the total death toll in Colombia rises to 129,901.

In the last 24 hours, in addition, 2,656 recovered patients were reported. Thus, there are already 4,967,873 patients who to date have overcome covid-19 in the country.
In total, there are 30,710 cases that remain active in Colombia.
There are 331 conglomerates in the country. The territories are: Amazonas, Antioquia, Arauca, Atlántico, Barranquilla, Bogotá, Bolívar, Boyacá, Buenaventura, Caldas, Caquetá, Cartagena, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Guainía, Guaviare, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena , Meta, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Risaralda, San Andrés, Santa Marta, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, Valle del Cauca, Vaupés and Vichada.
The list of deaths was headed by Antioquia (8), Bogotá (6), and Valle del Cauca (5) and the areas with the most recent cases of covid-19 in the country were Antioquia (2,775), Bogotá (1,999), and Valle del Cauca (1966).
For its part, Fernando Ruiz placeholder image, Minister of Health, indicated through a trill that “the national genomic network of the National Institute of Health confirmed three weeks of omicron circulation in the country. Positive samples in 3 departments of the country and Bogota. 23% versus 77% for the delta variant. Regarding the advance of National Vaccination Plan, the health authority reported that, with a cut-off at 11:59 pm on December 28, in the country 64,218,250 doses of the covid-19 vaccine. Of that figure, 32,956,994 correspond to the first dose; 22,817,484 at second dose; 3,158,642, booster doses, and 5,288,130 are from the single-dose vaccine.
In Colombia, 28,105,614 people already have the vaccination schedule full.
