COVID-19 cases increased to 89 – Suriname Herald

The number of COVID-19 cases has risen again. In the meantime, 89 people have been tested positive for the virus. There are now 79 active cases, reports the COVID-19 website.

Since the outbreak of the virus in the country, nine people have been declared cured and one person has died. Currently 145 people are quarantined.

1,175 tests have been conducted nationwide from various laboratories, says Director of Health Cleopatra Jessurun. “It is a worrying situation, but due to the hard work of the different teams, an adapted strategy has been applied,” says Jessurun.
