-The health authority made a special call to young people between 29 and 26 years old to get vaccinated next week.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, pointed out that “7,614 new cases are reported, of which 27% originate from active case search (BAC) and 27% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 21% due to BAC and 24% of the reported cases are asymptomatic ”. He added that the regions, according to the sampling, with the highest average positivity in the last seven days are Araucanía, O’Higgins, Metropolitana and Maule.
The health authority reported that “only four regions decreased their cases in the last seven days and nine in the last 14 days.” Meanwhile, the Aysén region registers the highest incidence rate in the country per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Magallanes, Los Ríos and Arica. Meanwhile, the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are: Aysén, O’Higgins, Los Lagos and Biobío.
The Secretary of State insisted on “always maintaining self-care measures, use a mask, wash hands with soap and water, use alcohol gel, maintain physical distance and avoid crowds. It is also important to ventilate with the simple ‘2-3-30’ formula. This consists of having two windows or doors open in opposite places, three times a day ventilating the place for at least 30 minutes. In this way, the air is cleaned in case of COVID-19 particles. All these measures are for now the most effective to avoid new infections while the population continues with the inoculation process according to the established calendar ”.
“I make a special invitation to the youngest, between 29 and 26 years old, to get vaccinated during the next week, in this way they will protect themselves and also take care of their families, friends and relatives,” emphasized Minister Paris. Likewise, the vaccination of pregnant women with 16 weeks of gestational age will continue, second dose to the population vaccinated with the first dose between April 26 and May 2, laggards of 30 or more years, and chronically laggards between 18 and 24 years.
