Covid-19: Again more than 340 patients in intensive care

Between October 25 and 31, an average of 7,758 people tested positive for Covid-19 each day. This is a 36% increase from the previous week.

Between October 28 and November 3, 164 daily hospital admissions of coronavirus patients were recorded, an increase of 31% compared to the previous reference period. Hospitals are currently treating 1,858 patients with Covid-19, of whom 343 are in intensive care.
Between October 25 and 31, an average of 20 people (20.4) died per day from the virus, up 31% from the previous seven-day period. In all, 26,083 people have been killed by the pandemic since March 2020.

Some 84,200 tests on average were also carried out daily (+ 25%), for a positivity rate of 9.7%.

The virus’s reproduction rate reached 1.18. When it is greater than 1, this indicator means that the epidemic is tending to accelerate.

The incidence, which indicates the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, reached 617.6 over 14 days.

Finally, 87% of adults in Belgium have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
