Covid-19: 7 cattle souks intended for Aid closed for non-compliance with health measures

Seven cattle souks intended for the sacrifice of Aid Al Adha were closed for failure to comply with the sanitary measures required to prevent the spread of Covid19, a joint statement from the Ministries of the Interior and Agriculture said on Tuesday , Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests.



“As part of the preventive health measures to prevent the spread of Covid19 in the cattle souks intended for the sacrifice of Aid Al Adha, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests have closed several souks across the Kingdom on the basis of the observations and recommendations of the local souk monitoring commissions in accordance with the guide published jointly on this subject ”, adds the same source, specifying that in total, seven souks were closed for non-compliance with the required health measures.

The competent services of the two Ministries remain mobilized, in close coordination with the departments, establishments, municipalities and professional organizations concerned, to ensure compliance with the sanitary conditions and the measures required at the level of the souks, the control of the transport of animals intended for to Eid as well as for the respect of sanitary measures on the day of Eid by those involved in the slaughtering process, says the same source, recalling that the preventive sanitary measures to be respected have been published in a practical guide which has been widely disseminated.
