The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, reported 5,753 new cases of COVID-19, of which 3,935 are symptomatic people. Of the total number of cases, 12% were diagnosed by antigen test, 27% originated by Active Case Search (BAC) and 26% of those reported were asymptomatic. Regarding the Metropolitan Region, it presents 16% due to antigen, 21% due to BAC and 24% of the reported cases are asymptomatic.
Likewise, the Secretary of State emphasized that during the last week the variation of new confirmed cases has been – 17%, where 12 regions have reduced the number of new infections. While the regions that increased these figures the most in the last seven days were Atacama, Arica, Antofagasta and Coquimbo.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 121 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths is 31,513 in the country.
To date, 3,230 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 2,780 are on mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 220 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 72,783 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 16,433,977 analyzed nationwide to date. The PCR positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 7.56% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 9%.
With regard to the Health Residences, we have 207 accommodation facilities, with 15,204 total beds. The real occupation nationwide is 64%, leaving a total of 4,103 beds available to be used.
