COVID-19 – 54-year-old Metropolitan Anthony died

As a result of complications after coronavirus disease on Tuesday, March 23, Metropolitan Khmelnytsky and Kamenets-Podolsky died PCU Anthony (Vladislav Makhota).

  • In the holy dignity – from 1991, from 1994 to 1995 he served in the Crimean diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate, then transferred to the UOC of the Kiev Patriarchate.

  • From March 1995 to July 1996 – rector of the Cathedral of Saints Vladimir and Olga of the UOC-KP in Simferopol, secretary of the Crimean diocese.

  • Since July 1996, after taking monastic vows and ordination, he served as Bishop of Simferopol and Crimean UOC-KP.

  • In 1997 he was appointed Bishop of Khmelnytsky and Kamenets-Podilsky UOC-KP.

  • In 2004, he was elevated to the rank of archbishop, and in 2012 – to the rank of metropolitan. He was also deputy chairman of the Synodal Statutory Commission of the OCU.
