In Lorraine, clusters are multiplying in nursing homes as in all public structures. After that of Pompey-Lay-Saint-Christophe at the beginning of the week, the municipal retirement home “Notre Maison”, located in the Meurthe-et-Canal district in Nancy, is in turn heavily affected by a galloping epidemic. The families of the residents were alerted by email of a “health situation now very problematic” according to management. 44 people were declared positive inside this structure welcoming the elderly, following a recent screening campaign. This figure (for the partial hour) concerned Thursday evening 24 agents as well as 20 residents, of which two died. All the families of the residents have been warned of this brutal health development in recent days. Room confinement has been in place since Friday in this establishment opened in 2017, which has 150 residents including around thirty suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

Second screening next week
“This containment should allow us to limit the spread of the virus. The second screening, which will be carried out next week, will allow us to confirm it, ”wrote the management to the families. The management of the Nancy nursing home also specifies that “the operation has been completely revised to put in place the procedures already considered and anticipated, aimed at ensuring the safety of both residents and agents. For example, wearing the FFP2 mask, excluding agents tested positive, strengthening bio-cleaning ”.
“Our house” announces a reorganization underway, to adapt as much to the pandemic as to the personnel restrictions imposed by the sidelining of infected agents.
A problem likely to concern a growing number of nursing homes in Lorraine. Thursday evening, according to figures put forward by the ARS (Regional Health Agency) 32 were affected by clusters (13 in Meurthe-et-Moselle, 13 in Moselle, 4 in the Vosges and 2 in the Meuse). In the surroundings of Nancy, 16 agents from the Pompey-Lay-Saint-Christophe establishment were declared positive for 4 residents. In another institution in Nancy, two asymptomatic agents were arrested after positive analyzes. All the residents were re-confined to the bedrooms.
