COVID-19: 3 cases identified at Dr. Bruno Cheong hospital, SSRN hospital and Jeetoo hospital

The laboratories of the Ministry of Health and Welfare analyzed 1,890 PCR tests yesterday, Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Thus, 3 cases of local contamination were identified in three different COVID-19 testing centers in Mauritius.

The positive results obtained in the evening are as follows:
• 1 positive case detected at the COVID-19 Testing Center at Dr. Bruno Cheong Hospital. She is a resident of Montagne Blanche. The source of infection has been established.
• 1 positive case detected at the COVID-19 Testing Center of the SSRN hospital. This is a resident of Epinay, this case is under investigation.
• 1 positive case detected at the COVID-19 Testing Center at Dr. AG Jeetoo Hospital. This is a resident of Valletta, this case is under investigation.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases locally since March 5 is as
suit:
• 584 cases recorded following Contact Tracing and samples at COVID-19 Testing Centers
• 168 cases recorded in quarantine (negative patients on admission)
• 37 cases recorded following targeted screening
• 8 deaths attributed to COVID-19 (7 local cases and 1 imported case)
The number of active cases at the local level is therefore 166.

608 patients considered to be cured were able to return home.
