An employee of the Souillac hospital, whom we contacted yesterday, Saturday March 27, confirms: the patient – whom we will nickname ‘Re’ – returned from India in December and tested positive for Covid-19. He was ‘watched’ during his brief stay at Souillac hospital by five members of the hospital staff. But Re died in January and was laid to rest in Bigarra cemetery, a ‘part’ of which is reserved for those who die while carrying the virus (see below).

Better. Or rather still. Three of the employees responsible for looking after Re, including the head nurse, whom we will nickname B., a Charge Nurse and a nurse have tested positive and admitted to ENT hospital in Vacoas …

We also learn that B., who is said to be close to the Minister of Health, Kailesh Jagutpal, would not have followed the sanitary protocol while he was guarding Re. “He often went out and even wandered outside the hospital”, confides our interlocutor.

Employees are now wondering if B. has not infected other employees and patients. In any case, when the nurse in the dialysis section at Souillac hospital tested positive the day before yesterday, it was discovered that other members of the nursing staff were also carriers of the Covid, although they were asymptomatic. As of yesterday, around 20 of them had contracted the virus.

If this hypothesis turns out, another question arises: was the virus transmitted to staff and patients at Rose-Belle hospital and, if so, how? The answer : “The husband of the nurse at the Souillac hospital works at the Rose-Belle hospital …” The pieces of the puzzle seem to fit together, but it remains at the stage of hypothesis and the transmission could have been done otherwise. In any case, here are several employees of the Nehru hospital contaminated too, including the Regional Health Director from the South, Dr. Hosany.

The problem: he also consults in the private sector … As a pediatrician … If the tentacles of the ‘contact tracing’ are spreading and without wanting to be alarmist, could we suppose that children could have been infected? If the authorities are willing to find out and tell the truth … They persist in saying, so far, that ‘this man’ who returned from the Great Peninsula and considered an imported case therefore, according to the authorities at the time, did not die from Covid but from complications related to other pathologies.

We were told that Re had gone to India for treatment, but when he got there, the Indian doctors realized that his state of health was too worrying for him to be operated on. “How is it possible that this could not be detected before his departure, if he was in critical condition”, we asked a senior government official. Are there not consultations carried out beforehand before sending a patient abroad?

The answer : “The family wanted at all costs to send him to India.” To reassure us, the ministry had promised to issue a press release on this affair but we are still waiting, almost three months later …
