COVID-19: 16 new cases in Outaouais and 46 in Ottawa | Coronavirus

However, the region’s health authorities do not deplore any new deaths linked to the coronavirus in the Outaouais, in the federal capital and in eastern Ontario, in their latest report.

In the Outaouais, the number of deaths linked to COVID-19 remained stable on Wednesday. The virus has so far claimed 161 lives in the region and infected 6,373 people. Of these, 6,009 are now healed.

On Wednesday, four patients are treated in the COVID-19 unit of the Hull Hospital, none of them is followed in intensive care.

The Outaouais Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) is monitoring 201 active cases of the virus in the territory, a drop of eight cases compared to Tuesday’s toll.

In Ottawa, the number of victims of COVID-19 also remains stable, with a death toll of 441.

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) observed 46 new cases of contamination in its territory on Wednesday, bringing the toll to 14,870 people infected since the start of the crisis. A total of 13,932 of them have been restored, according to the authorities.

Currently, 30 patients are hospitalized in the federal capital to fight symptoms related to COVID-19, this is three more patients than Tuesday. Six people are struggling in intensive care.

SPO is monitoring 497 active cases, a drop of four cases from Tuesday’s toll.

10 new cases in eastern Ontario

In eastern Ontario, ten new cases of COVID-19 were added to the toll on Wednesday. In the region, 2,840 people have so far contracted the virus and 2,629 of them have overcome the disease.

The death toll remains stable, however, with 68 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is monitoring five active outbreaks in the territory and 143 active cases.

Authorities say seven people are fighting the virus at a regional hospital.
