Brazil successful in gaining full numbers after smothering Paraguay 4-0 in continuation 2022 World Cup Qualification. Philippe Coutinho Brazil scored.
Brazil hosted Paraguay at the Estadio Magalhaes Pinto, Wednesday (2/2/2022) morning WIB. The Selecao’s victory was decided by a goal from Raphinha in the first half, and two more goals from Coutinho, substitute Antony Dos Santos and Rodrygo.
This victory continues Brazil’s unbeaten streak in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. Brazil, which has already qualified, remains top of the table with 39 points from 15 matches, four points ahead of bottom Argentina.
Paraguay, on the other hand, is in ninth place by collecting 13 points from 16 matches. Los Albirroja is no longer possible to qualify directly for the finals but through the intercontinental playoffs or finish fifth, which is currently occupied by Peru (20 points).
Brazil dominated the game. Statistics show Tite’s men had 76 percent possession and made a total of 18 attempts (8 on target), compared to six attempts from Paraguay with only two on target.
Raphinha opened Brazil’s advantage when the match had not even rolled half an hour. Marquinhos keenly saw the position of Raphinha in front, then sent a long ball from the middle of the field. Raphinha escaped the offside trap and then thrashed the opponent before finishing with a low shot.
After halftime, Brazil’s advantage increased to 2-0 in the 62nd minute. Coutinho scored a beautiful goal from outside the penalty box. Again Marquinhos became the creator.
The PSG player’s horizontal pass penetrated the Paraguay midfield and then met Coutinho. The Aston Villa loanee then finished off with a powerful right-footed shot that found the top corner of the net.
Brazil is still chasing the third goal even though it has ensured the victory. In the last five minutes, Anthony completed this positive result with a third goal after maximizing Everton’s pass. Finally, Rodrygo closed the party of four goals without reply.
