The corporate court in Mechelen will not rule on the application for judicial settlement for Mega World until next Monday.

Several parties asked this morning at the corporate court session not to grant Mega World a postponement of payment. Three homeowners were present at the hearing, all of whom asked not to allow a settlement.
The prosecution also found that protection against creditors should not be granted. If the court nevertheless would grant a period of judicial settlement, then this was possible provided the appointment of a temporary administrator, the Public Prosecution Service advised.
Of union ACV Puls had advocated the appointment of such a watchdog. The delegated judges reiterated their position that at most a short period of reprieve could be granted and that the presented business plan was weak.
The demand to reject the plea bargain may bring Mega World bankruptcy one step closer. If the court rejects the application, Mega World can appeal.
It was striking that Dirk Bron, the controversial owner of Mega World (ex-Blokker), was present at the session.
