A panel of the Kyustendil District Court has confirmed the decision of the District Court – Dupnitsa, with which the request of the defense of Vasil Mihailov, son of the prosecutor from Pernik Biser Mihailov, was dismissed and he remains in custody. The SJC reassigned the case to the RP in Dupnitsa. The measure of the first instance was confirmed.
In its reasons, the District Court states:
“The court did not find grounds to overturn the protocol determination of RS – Dupnitsa, assuming that all the legal prerequisites for taking the most severe pretrial detention measure are present. There is a well-founded suspicion of authorship of the incriminated act for which he was brought in, as well as existence of a real danger that the accused will commit a crime In connection with the new circumstances pointed out by the defense, neither the duration of the period of detention in custody, which is less than 2 months, nor the state of health of the accused, are of the nature to determine a change of the measure for persistence”.
The decision of the District Court – Kyustendil is final and is not subject to appeal or protest.
