Court Grants Freedom Action for Former Interim Mayor in Prestín Case

The authority of the third Anti-Corruption Investigation Court gave the go-ahead to the freedom action that benefits the former interim mayor of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Angélica Sosa, for the so-called ‘Prestín’ case, according to the ex-authority lawyer, Arturo Heredia.

In a contact with UNITEL, the lawyer pointed out that the court determined house arrest, arraigo and a bond of Bs 80,000, after a hearing that was installed around noon this Friday and that lasted for a period of four hours.

The defense also pointed out that the Prestín case was extinct and the matter had been notified through judicial channels. Sergio Perovic, the deceased husband of the former interim authority, was also included in the process.

Arturo Heredia, a defense lawyer, told UNITEL that Judge Primo Flores, “assessing the evidence presented”, has declared the extinction of the action in favor of the architect Sergio Perovicconsequently, “we consider that since the main defendant is not the main person under investigation in this case, the same fate should apply to all those under investigation.”
