‘Court does not make public decision on Britney Spears case for bankruptcy’ | NOW

The statement made in the guardianship case surrounding Britney Spears will probably not be shared in the media. The judge has decided that the outcome will remain confidential, reports The Blast.

An American medium filed a request to film the verdict, but the judge refused.

The 38-year-old singer was not present at the hearing, although it was previously announced that she would be present in court through a video connection.

Spears has not had control over her financial affairs and career for more than ten years. The singer is under guardianship and her case was heard again in court on Wednesday, which decides about her future.

The American artist was admitted to mental illness in 2008 after allegedly locking herself up in the bathroom with one of her sons because she didn’t want to relinquish custody of them. Not long after, her father Jamie Spears got the papers around to become her curator.

In 2019, Spears’ situation changed slightly. Her father gave up part of the curatorship because of his own medical problems. He pushed forward the so-called care manager of the singer, Jodi Montgomery, to take over his duties. He retained control of his daughter’s assets and finances.

Montgomery’s role was due to expire earlier this year, but the hearing was postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
