Couple Mistaken for Accident Victims on Highway After Visit to Escape Room Nightmarequest

Delphine Vandenberghe and her partner Hein Dendauw went with some friends to Nightmarequest in Zwevegem on Saturday morning, an escape room where ‘horror’ is the central theme. In their attempt to get out of that room, the party – completely on theme – was injected with fake blood. “And that looks quite real,” Delphine also realizes. “But because we couldn’t wash there, we also drove home with those bloody faces.”

And that apparently did not go unnoticed by the road police. Five minutes after returning home, Delphine and Hein suddenly received a phone call. “It was the road police,” laughs Delphine. “They said they had seen our bloody faces on cameras and wanted to know what had happened. When we explained to them where we came from, they didn’t believe us at first. But we could reassure them: we had not bashed each other’s heads at all. (laughs) Although I think it’s a shame that they saw that through those cameras, even though we were stuck in a traffic jam. On the other hand, that is also positive: they clearly keep a close eye on the highway.”
